The Harmonized Tariff Schedule, chapter by chapter
Every product imported into the United States is classified under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), and the first two digits of its code are its chapter. The HTS has 97 international chapters, organized into 21 sections, plus two U.S. national chapters. Pick a chapter to see what it covers and how its codes are built — or look up an exact code and its duty in the live tool.
This is a structure-only reference — it does not publish duty rates. To see the rate and landed duty for a specific code, use the free tariff & duty lookup, which reads the current USITC HTS data.
